Zena Moses, a New Orleans native, began her musical career in 2007. Known for her wide vocal range and creative freedom, she captivates audiences with soulful ballads and energetic dance tunes. Zena’s style blends Funk, Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae and R&B, showcasing the raw essence of New Orleans. She has performed with bands like Gene’s Music Machine, Brassaholics, and Big Sam Funky Nation, and founded her own band, Rue Fiya, in 2009. Zena has graced stages at notable venues and festivals, including the New Orleans Jazz Festival, French Quarter Fest, and River Jam Festival. In addition to music, Zena has acted in stage plays such as “Live at The Funky Butt” and “Baduizm.” Her passion for keeping New Orleans music alive drives her continued performances in the city and beyond. Although the band regularly plays its original punk-funk-rock repertoire, they love eclectic covers and New Orleans rhythm & blues, funk, and soul, often delving into pop and blues as well as psychedelic jams when the spirit moves them there. Its members have played extensively with local luminaries such as Eric Lindell, John ‘Papa’ Gros, Darcy Malone & the Tangle, James Andrews, Glen David Andrews, Mem Shannon, Michael Darby (Irene & the Mikes), Dave Easley, plus many others, and decided to form their own band as an outlet for all the music they weren’t already playing. Sunny Side is a jazz band based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. They are heavily influenced by the music of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Fats Waller, and many other early jazz legends. "All About Jazz" says of them: “Normally performing as a 7 piece, Sunny Side has an energetic vocalist and dancer, 3 part horn harmonies, and a tight rhythm section. The band’s authentic captivating performance and infectious energy embodies the spirit of what makes New Orleans such a treasured world renown city.” In May of 2023 they released their 2nd Album and first studio album “The Felicity Sessions” promoting this on their 2023 national tour. They have had two successful national tours from New Orleans to New York to Ohio and back, stopping at many cities and towns along the way.
