Orphaned in Storyville

Somewhere between big band and acoustic singer-songwriter, Orphaned in Storyville combines the moody lyrical songwriting of artists like Tom Waits or Randy Newman with an 8 piece Charles Mingus style horn section in order to play songs that read like stories.

Pianist and lead singer Nat Lawrence writes songs that are all true stories from life. Some about the time he sailed on a floating bed down the Mississippi River, or about the time he busked on Royal street with the ghost of Lois Prima.
